Days of Serbian Culture (Zilele Culturii Sârbe) took place in Bucharest on 4 and 5 October 2014. They were organized by the Union of Serbs from Romania, the organization which gathers Serbs living in this State, and this is the second time that such an event was held in Romania’s capital, with the organizer’s intention to become a traditional event.
The event took place in the Village Museum “Dimitrie Gusti” in Bucharest, it lasted for two days and it included the presentation of the publishing activities of the Union of Serbs, exhibition dedicated to the Arad Fortress (where, during the First World War, a large number of Serbs ware imprisoned, and about 4,000 died), documentary “Serbs from Romania” and cultural programme.
Slavomir Gvozdenovic, representative in the Romanian Parliament, Borislav Velimirovic, president of Bucharest filial of the Union of Serbs, as well as representatives of the Romanian Department for Inter-Ethnic Relations and the Village Museum, spoke at the opening. Chargé d'Affaires of Serbia, Mr. Goran Gvozdenovic, addressed the gathering.
